Indications

Used in ayurvedic medicine to treat arthritic pain. Used to treat various inflammatory processes by inhibiting leukotrienes.

• chronic inflammatory respiratory complaints

Constituents

• Triterpenoids (E.g. Boswellic Acid)
• Volatile Oil

Posology

Decoction & Infusion: Ineffective due to non-polar resins.

Extracts (gum resin): 300-350 mg tid

Note: acute rheumatoid arthritis • may use higher doese, e.g. 3 g, qd.
